7 Styling Tips for December

1. Make your outerwear count - in the cold season, you can't get around wearing a coat, so you might as well make it a good one! Go for a classic camel, padded parka or a pretty pastel one to cover up this season.

2. Fake Fur - whether it's a teddy jacket (H&M do great ones for a neat budget), a stole or a cute waistcoat, faux fur is so on trend this December. What counts is: the bigger, the better! Bonus: it also keeps really warm when it's -10 outside.

3. Hats, Scarves and Gloves - Harpers Bazaar did a great feature with 10 perfect pairs of winter accessories, which you can read here. This is really the only time of year you can get away with layering on the accessories. Try combining all your accessories in one colour, or go for a bright hat to top off an all grey outfit.

4. Channel Batman - capes are on everyone right now and a really cool way to cover up. And the great news is that you don't have to splurge on that Dior one. There are cute ones in almost every shop on the high street. New Look do great tartan ones.

5. Glitter & Sparkle - it is the party season after all. And who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?! It's really the only time of year you can get away with going all out. So do! From top to bottom or just as a little accent to you outfit. Be glamorous for a month.

6. Go to great lengths - cover up completely this December with knee-high boots or a full length duster coat, a la Kylie Jenner. Because this winter, it's in style.

7. Wrapped Up - it's Christmas time, so why not wrap yourself up like a present. Belt your coat with a bow or wear a nice wrap-dress to your work party to look cute and on trend.
