Making something yourself is not only cheap but it can give you a great feeling of achievement and can make people appreciate things a lot more. We've found seven great DIY ideas you can do at Christmas time. After all, Santa does need some help around this busy time of year!
1. Wrapping Paper - use newspaper, old posters, musical note sheets or - our favourite - baking paper with your personal touch! We love these the most!
2. Spa Day in a Jar - use a cute jar as the base of your DIY gift idea. Add a couple bath salts, shower gel and mini massage oil to a cotton ball snow base and cute bow details and your spa day in a jar is complete. We love this tutorial! You can also easily make a tea jar, a traveller jar or use your imagination to create the perfect gift for anyone!
3. Home Made Caramels - sugar, sugar and more sugar is all you dreamed of all year and now you can have it. You just need milk, butter, peanut butter, brown sugar and a whole load of icing sugar to make your dream come true. Sorted Food have a great recipe but you can find them all over the internet!
4. Napkin Folding - you might not be an origami expert but with this little nifty tutorial, you can quickly transform a dull napkin into a wonderful Christmas Tree! Perfect for the holidays
5. Salt Dough Christmas Tree Ornaments - all you need is flour, salt, warm water and some glitter to decorate. We love these and there is a whole bunch of ideas for making your own ornaments here.
6. Christmas Cards - we all used to make these as kids, so why not revive the excitement we had back then and try again?! There are so many amazing ideas out there but we don't want to put in too much effort so using a simple black pen and drawing out all those Christmas shapes; trees, stars, snowmen is by far the easiest thing to do and it can still look great! You can also sew them on afterwards, for a cool DIY-look! We found all the best ones here!
7. Gift Tags - use thicker carton paper, cover with chalkboard tape and be creative!
